At Righi Hernandez, we believe that giving back to the community is as important as providing excellent legal services. The founding partners have a long history of community service to both the legal community and the community at large. Elizabeth Fitch served on the Executive Committee from 1996-2000 and was President in 2000 for the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel (AADC). Richard Righi has served on the Board of Directors since 2002 and will serve as President of AADC next year.
During Ms. Fitch's and Mr. Righi's tenure at AADC, they have been integrally involved in the organization's charitable activities including providing pro bono representation to attorneys subject to disciplinary matters and hosting the annual Barry Fish Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the ALS Association. Barry Fish was a well known Phoenix attorney who fought a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Each year the tournament raises thousands of dollars for critical research into the cure and treatment of this disabling disease. Rick also served on the Fiesta Bowl Committee, where he ran the Fiesta Bowl/Phoenix Suns
3-on-3 Basketball Tournament which raised funds for charity.
Our worldview on giving back to the community is broad. We understand that we live in global economy and as such we also have responsibility to help those less fortunate than ourselves, both locally and abroad. Rosary Hernandez sits on the Board of Directors for Esperança, a non-profit agency that provides health and hope for the world's poor through health and development projects and a volunteer surgical program serving more than 14 countries around the world, including the United States. Ms. Fitch sits on the boards of two non-profit organizations and serves as the President of another non-profit organization that seeks to alleviate global poverty.
Our exceptional staff and attorneys give back to the local community in a myriad of ways from serving on school organizations, supporting the arts, supporting local charities, serving on church councils, to coaching soccer.
